Context-Sensitive Situation Awareness
Image Matters pioneered the development and application of Context-Sensitive ServiceŽ techniques to provide more effective and adaptive situation awareness, alerting, and reporting capabilities for first responders and emergency managers. These tools model and exploit user and situational context to render more relevant actionable information. They greatly help reduce information overload and provide vastly improved information sharing.

Effective Data Management through Metadata Lifecycle Tools
Image Matters, with Michael Baker Corp. and IBM, built and delivered the operational capability for connecting the portal system for the FEMA Map Modernization Program to the NSDI Clearinghouse and Geospatial One Stop (GOS) portal systems for automated metadata searches and harvesting via Z39.50 and Catalog Services for the Web (OGC's CSW). Java-based production tools were developed for creating, editing, and validating FGDC CSDGM metadata and managing metadata holdings in online catalogs via CSW.
