Achievements of Note
- Supported the Hoosier National Forest's analyses, impact assessments, and facilitaton of public review via an e-Forest Plan approach with web-mapping, to meet NFMA and NEPA requirements.
- Developed a spatial data infrastructure for the Western Regional Air Partnership to enable the integration of distributed emissions, monitoring, and modeling data to help state and tribal air managers construct Implementation Plans to meet Clean Air Act requirements.
- Provided field and lab ecologists a mechanism for "scaling up" their EPA investigation of the impacts of sea-level rise on the ecosystem services of coastal wetlands to large regions.
- Introduced the first web-mapping capability to the Indiana National Guard with standards compliant data (SDSFIE) and metadata (CSDGM) as a part of an installation e-Master Plan.
The Market and Image Matters
All organizations need to be able to take inventory, identify problems and a range of solutions, and make informed decisions in choosing a course of action. Geospatial technologies provide environmental and natural resource managers the means to do this efficiently, systematically, objectively, and if necessary, transparently, to best manage the land, air, water, biota, and/or infrastructure with which they are entrusted. Simply put, Image Matters equips organizations with the exact solutions that they need, be it for a regional ecological inventory, master plan, TES impact assessment, or decision support system, but always with an eye towards the future.
Why Image Matters
Image Matters is able to deliver superior solutions for three reasons. First, our veteran systems and software engineers and programmers are complemented by seasoned subject matter experts with graduate degrees in applied and earth sciences and decades of experience, e.g., in site assessment, environmental simulation modeling, and impact evaluation. Second, we bring to bear an arsenal of COTS wares, reusable software components, and our in-house products built on geospatial interoperability standards. Third, the depth and breadth of our experience enables us to apply the right set of tools, including ESRI's ArcGIS, in the right way, for any particular project.
Who We Help
Image Matters presence in the environmental and natural resources market has been felt mainly in the public sector at the federal level (e.g., ACE, FEMA, EPA, FWS, NPS, FS, BLM), though we continue to serve both state (Indiana National Guard), local (Lake Lemon Conservancy District) and public-private consortia (Western Regional Air Partnership) on-time and in a cost effective manner.
